Wood Wool Cement Panels help reduce reverberation and noise
Avenue Interior Systems’ wood wool cement panels proved the ideal solution to unwanted noise for a state primary school’s multipurpose room.
The Challenge
Bunker’s Hill State School, located in Westbrook Queensland, were in need of noise control in their multipurpose hall. The building was constructed of concrete and tin, which meant all the surfaces in the room were hard – any noise created within the space would reverberate and echo.
This became a problem for the school – particularly during musical performances, when sound quality is of great importance. The school asked Avenue Interior Systems to provide a solution which would be both acoustically effective and aesthetic.

To solve the school’s reverberation problem, Avenue Interior Systems installed wood wool cement panels on six walls around the hall.
An upgrade on traditional wood wool panels, Avenue’s product includes a cement component, resulting in a stronger and more durable panel with a higher acoustic rating and a higher fire rating. These panels are available with a raw finish, or in any RAL colour of your choice.
