  • <65 dB – Safe / Non-Hazardous
    Normal conversation, dishwasher, microwave, background music, rainfall.

  • 65–85 dB – Moderate
    Hairdryer, vacuum cleaner, smoke alarm, lawnmower. Hearing protection is recommended if exposed long-term.

  • 100–120 dB – Extremely Loud
    Crying baby, ambulance siren, rock concerts, thunder. Prolonged exposure may cause hearing damage.

  • >120 dB – Dangerous
    Motor racing, engine backfire, fireworks. Short-term exposure can damage hearing.

  • 160+ dB – Immediate Risk
    Shotgun fire, rocket launch. Immediate hearing damage is likely.
