Avenue creates a quieter, more enjoyable workplace for GrainCorp
As one of Australia’s leading grain exporters, GrainCorp owns eastern Australia’s most extensive integrated grain storage and transport network. GrainCorp’s products and expertise are sought by leading food manufacturers in over 30 countries. Their diversified operations span the global food supply chain across four continents.
The Challenge
GrainCorp built new office space and a boardroom for their head office in Liverpool, New South Wales. The office houses high-level management teams working and communicating with staff across the nation.
Unfortunately, when the development was completed Graincorp found that the acoustics of the new space were less than optimal for teleconferencing and meetings. In fact the echo in the boardroom made it difficult to hear a standard conversation – let alone to host a meeting with several people involved!

The Avenue Solution
Avenue’s NSW sales representative visited the GrainCorp site to discuss the best options for improving their space with a custom noise control solution. This face-to-face interaction with our client allowed clarity on how the application would work. We understood Graincorp’s need to work within restrictive timeframes while delivering a high standard of work.
The Avenue team determined that the cause of the excessive echo were the many hard surfaces and the open plan design of the office space, which allowed noise to bounce from surface to surface.
Avenue supplied and installed our Calando Panel to the ceilings and wall areas throughout the open plan offices, boardroom, and lunchroom. We also added an acoustic door from the Flexshield range to the boardroom.
Results Achieved by Avenue
The panels’ effect has been tremendous, exceeding the GrainCorp team’s expectations. They have made a vast difference to the noise throughout the office, and staff are impressed.
Importantly, Avenue’s work was completed safely with no risk to staff, and has improved the working environment substantially. Employees now have a quiet, more enjoyable place to work.
